Guidelines & Standards

The Evaluation Standards published by the Swiss Evaluation Society (SEVAL Standards) aim to contribute to the professionalization of evaluation practice in Switzerland. Adhering to the main principles expressed in these Standards will help to increase the quality and credibility of evaluations.

These standards aim to provide evaluators and institutions commissioning evaluations, funding institutions as well as those to be evaluated with a framework and a set of guidelines for the evaluation process.

This document gives a short overview on why context matters when trying to identify effects of gender equality initiatives, how it can be considered and what factors turned out to be relevant in 19 case studies conducted in EFFORTI.
